- Rescue Mission
- Every day, close to where we eat, people wonder about their next meal. It’s our mission to feed the hungry.
Every day, close to where we sleep, people have no safe place to lay their head. It’s our mission to shelter the homeless.
Every day, close to where we live, people have no shoes or coats or hats or gloves. It’s our mission to clothe and care for the needy.
- Rochester Family Mission
- “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me…”
The needs of Rochester’s inner city community are great. For over 85 years, RFM has faithfully served urban families facing hunger. We offer regular, systematic distributions of food provided by supporting churches, individuals and organizations. With unmatched excellence, our caring volunteers assemble and distribute sustaining packages of groceries, helping families to meet their basic needs. - DEBRA
- The Boy Who Shed His Skin was inspired by the courageous life of Jonny
Kennedy. Jonny was born with the horrific genetic disorder of Recessive
Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa or R.D.E.B. Jonny suffered every day of his
life, yet was able to live with dignity, humor and hope. Learn more about
this disease and how to help find a cure by visiting these websites.
- Jonny Kennedy North East
- Jonny Kennedy North East was created to follow the wishes of Jonny Kennedy, helping other sufferers of Epidermolysis Bullosa and their carers.
The charity aims to provide computers to all its members, creating a community between everyone.
- EB Friends
- EB Friends was created under the close guidance of Cristina Perez. We shared the hope of filling a void in the EB Community. We were seeking a place where EVERYONE involved with EB, whether directly affected, a caretaker, family member, or friend could gather to share information and stories. A place where each one of these individuals could express themselves OUTSIDE the world of EB too.
- InterVol
- Founded by a Rochester physician, Ralph Pennino, MD, and supported by volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, InterVol is a Rochester community based non-profit organization. We are dedicated to serving others through the recovery and redistribution of medical supplies and equipment; to bridging local hospitals and medical professionals with other countries and care-giving organizations in areas of need; and to providing international educational support. We envision a better, more connected world, where people, materials, opportunities and needs are brought together for mutual benefit.
